The first video game, "Tennis for Two," was created in 1958 by physicist William Higinbotham. The first commercially available video game, "Computer Space," was released in 1971. The 1970s saw the rise of arcade video games and the home video game industry was born with the release of the Magnavox Odyssey in 1972. The rest is history.
